If you’ve seen the news in the past few days then the likelihood is that you’ve seen the big news for UK drivers – police will soon be able to issue instant fines for drivers that are caught speeding, eating and drinking behind the wheel, talking on the phone, cutting other drivers up and parking where they should not be. This is going to have a huge impact on many people but it will have an even bigger one for those driving for a living, like taxi drivers for example.

Taxi insurance may well go up as a result of these measures because the likelihood is that if you do any of the things mentioned above then you will get a fine of at least £80 and at least 3 points applied to your license. If you do then your taxi insurance premiums will go up when renewal time rolls around because you have to declare them. Providing you know what you can and can’t do and don’t break the law you should be fine though.
